Dayton, OH – Visitors to the Staco Energy booth during the National Association of Broadcasters Show from April 11-14, 2011 will receive a “show special” on preventative maintenance programs for automatic voltage regulators. A critical component of transmitter systems, automatic voltage regulators contain both electrical and mechanical components which are subject to wear over time. This thorough factory authorized preventative maintenance program will return the AVR to its original operating parameters, at a cost that is far less than unplanned repairs or emergency service.
During the full-day service call, a Staco technician will provide a comprehensive preventative maintenance inspection to include an audit of the voltage regulators internal and external operating parameters and conditions, inspection and replacement of commutation brushes, clear particulate matter from critical points and examine interfaces to other power train equipment. Travel to and from the job site is also included with the program cost.
In addition to the “show special,” broadcasters which operate other Staco equipment at the transmitter site can have that equipment serviced during the same site visit – thereby reducing PM costs. Additionally, if an extended visit can be arranged with other transmitter sites in the local market, the costs will be reduced to all participants.
“Automatic Voltage Regulators are critical to broadcast operations” says Sales Operations Manager, Paul Heiligenberg, “but because they require no day-to-day maintenance they can be overlooked and neglected. However, there is wear – and if left unchecked it can lead to costly and catastrophic problems – and expensive unplanned repairs or emergency service. Equipment in operation three years or longer can benefit from this thorough PM program, ensuring that stations stay on-air without interruption.”
